J.B. Priestley’s 1912 play An Inspector Calls is a much-celebrated stageplay, and has also been a staple of the national curriculum in the UK for quite some time.
The drama focuses on the well-to-do Birling family who are grilled by a mysterious inspector after a working class local girl takes her own life. The BBC have filmed a new version of the story, with David Thewlis as the inspector and Ken Stott as head of the family Arthur Birling.
The new adaptation was shot on location in Yorkshire, including the village of Saltaire in the Bradford district with support from the Bradford Film Office.
